Moses Brennan
Clinical Director
BVSC CERTES(ORTH) MRCVSMoses qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1999, and developed an interest in equine surgery through working in mixed and equine practices. He travelled and worked in New Zealand before undertaking a residency in equine surgery at the University of Sydney, and joined us in 2008. His day-to-day caseload is dominated by head CT scans and performing minimally invasive tooth extractions and sinus surgeries.

Jonathan Anderson
Clinical Director, RCVS & American Specialist in Equine Surgery
BVM&S DIPACVS MRCVSAfter graduating in 2000, Jonathan completed an internship at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, before joining our practice for a few years. He is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) equine surgical specialist, a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and an FEI veterinary delegate. He has completed fellowships and residencies at universities in Oregon and California, and achieved diplomat status in 2009, the same year he rejoined our surgical team. He has been involved in advancing the use of CT as a diagnostic and intra-operative imaging modality within the equine veterinary field, and is an FEI veterinary delegate.

Rachel Agass
European Specialist in Equine Surgery
BSC BVETMED (HONS)Rachel is a European specialist in equine surgery and joined us as part of a shared surgery residency with the University of Glasgow. She was an intern at our practice prior to joining Bendigo Equine Hospital in Victoria. She is involved in all areas of lameness and surgery.

Matthew Cullen
European Specialist in Equine Surgery
BSc(Hons) BVSc MPhil CertAVP Dip.ECVS MRCVSMatthew graduated from Bristol University in 2012 and then completed an internship here at Rainbow Equine Hospital. After three years in ambulatory practice in the Midlands, he moved to Liverpool University to undertake a residency in equine surgery. While at Liverpool he also completed an MPhil degree establishing the International Colic Surgery Audit. After his residency, Matt stayed at Liverpool as a lecturer for two years, before moving back to Yorkshire to join the Rainbow surgery team in 2023. Matthew is a European and RCVS Specialist in equine surgery, with special interests in colic surgery and orthopaedic surgery. His research interests encompass various areas, including the use of quality improvement tools to improve outcomes and standards of care.

Rachael Conwell
Clinical Director & European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine
BVETMED CERTEM(INTMED) DIPECEIM MRCVSAfter graduating in 1997, Rachel worked in mixed practice and completed a residency in equine internal medicine at the University of Liverpool. She subsequently worked in equine practices in Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Yorkshire, before establishing her own equine internal medicine mobile referral service in 2008. She joined us in 2019, and is involved with the medicine caseload and laboratory reporting. She has presented at numerous national and international veterinary conferences and is an examiner for the University of Liverpool. She is part of the veterinary team for Bramham Horse Trials, and also provides veterinary services for the SPANA charity.

Gemma Tyner
American Specialist in Large Animal Internal Medicine
MVSC DACVIMGemma grew up on a dairy farm and graduated in 2005. After a year in mixed practice, she completed an internship in equine emergency and critical care, where she spent a foaling season at Ohio State University, before travelling to Australia to work at Scone Equine Hospital. She later undertook a large animal internal medicine residency at The University of Pennsylvania and taught clinical skills in Grenada, before joining our team.

Rosie Olley
European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine
BVSC MSCVPS CERTAVP(EM) DIPECEIM MRCVSRosie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2010, and gained experience at mixed and equine practices across the UK and Ireland and as an intern at University College Dublin. She has also completed a residency in equine internal medicine at the University of Liverpool, is a diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine and has undertaken research into fasting insulin cut-offs and eye injuries in polo ponies.

Lizzie Cullen
European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine
BVSc CertAVP(EM) DipECEIM AFHEA MRCVSLizzie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2016, followed by completing an internship at Newmarket Equine Hospital. Following this, she moved to Kentucky for a breeding season at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky, before returning to the UK to private equine practice in East Sussex. She then completed a 3 year residency at the University of Liverpool in equine internal medicine, before being awarded the Jane Axon Scholarship to spend time at Scone Equine Hospital in New South Wales to gain further experience in neonatology and critical care. She is a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine and is currently completing a Masters degree in post-foaling colic in Thoroughbred broodmares. She has special interests in neonatology, ophthalmology, gastrointestinal disease and critical care.
