Rainbow Equine Lab provides laboratory support to veterinary practices and trainers across the North.
Why Rainbow Equine Lab?
Our objective was to complete the range of services which the hospital provides and to provide better continuity of care for the vets, trainers and owners that rely on us. By combining the skills of experienced laboratory technicians with experts in equine internal medicine, reproduction and surgery we believe we can provide a service without equal in the region. We also receive samples from all across the UK and abroad.
Quality
Our aim is to provide you with results of a quality and accuracy that is unsurpassed and to get them to you faster. Our intention is not to be the biggest, but to be the best and to offer a more bespoke service. In addition to generating results, we provide interpretations and support from clinicians who are recognised experts in their respective fields and work in busy private equine practice. We know and understand equine practice, and this is reflected in the service and advice you will receive. Testing is subject to both internal and external quality assurance procedures.
Convenience
The laboratory is staffed from 8:30am to 5:30pm weekdays and from 8:30am to 5.00pm on Saturdays meaning there is always someone to answer any queries. After hours you can contact the laboratory via the hospital number 01653 695743. We are unique in offering a full laboratory service on Saturdays.
Value
Our aim is not to be the cheapest but to be the most reliable and we will not compromise on the quality and the validity of the results we provide. We invest in the tests that are supported by published evidence or, where this is lacking across the board, credible unpublished validation data. That said, comparing like for like we will not be beaten on price. Laboratory supplies and standard postage are all provided free of charge. We reserve the right to adjust prices in line with changes made by external laboratories and suppliers.
Discount Structure
It is important to us that you are rewarded for your support and see value in laboratory testing. We therefore apply a turn-over based rebate scheme.
Efficiency
Results of routine analyses start to be reported from around 11am on the day of receipt with other results following thereafter. We aim for all routine haematology and biochemistry received in the morning to be reported by 2pm. Samples that you (or we) judge to be urgent are prioritised.
