Lameness team
Our team of orthopaedic specialists work with the advanced imaging modalities to ensure that even the most complex of cases can be diagnosed and treated.
Diagnostic imaging is a vital part of the diagnosis process, and having a specialist in this area working on site ensures accuracy and meticulous attention to detail so that we can be confident that nothing is missed.
Lameness referrals are investigated and treated by Jonathan Anderson BVM&S DipACVS MRCVS, Rachel Agass Bsc BVetMed DipECVS MRCVS and Moses Brennan BVSc CertES(Orth) MRCVS, who all boast a wealth of experience with equine referral practice.
They are supported by Jonathon Dixon BVetMed MVetMed DipECVDI MRCVS, who specialises in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
Facilities
Our five-acre site boasts three hard straight line trot up sections, an undercover trot up area and two non-slip hard lunging and two soft lunging menages.
Our full-size sand and rubber arena allows evaluations to be performed as part of lameness and poor performance investigations.
Our orthopaedic nurses are always on hand to trot up and lunge horses, enabling you to observe the investigation.
Our Equigait lameness system allows more complex or subtle lamenesses to be detected and assessed, giving us additional accuracy to detect changes in gait.
Therapeutics
We are at the forefront of medical and biological therapeutic intervention. From medication to remedial farriery to surgical intervention, our orthopaedic team are highly specialised and experienced in bringing the most effective and appropriate treatments to your patients.
Class IV laser therapy, shockwave therapy, mesotherapy, PRP, IRAP and the latest joint medications including polyacrylamide gels, anabolic steroids enable our specialists to make the right choice for the right condition at the most appropriate time.
We will support you and your patient every step of the way, by offering a full report with recommendations at the point of discharge, ongoing treatments and follow-ups where required and regular advice from your specialist.
